Meet the Rector
Greetings,
My name is Michael Fedewa. I began my tenure as rector of St. Paul’s in November of 2018.
I have been married to Linda since June of 1984. Linda is a nurse and works for Cherry Health in Grand Rapids. We have three sons: Michael, Ben, and Jacob. Michael and his wife Megan live In Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They have a daughter, Charlotte Grace. Ben and his wife Emily live in Oakland California. Our youngest son Jake lives in Livonia.
We have a dog, Lady.
I have been ordained since 1981. I have served parishes in Battle Creek and in Lockport, New York. In December of 2017, I retired as rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids. I had served as rector there for over 25 years.
When I retired from St. Andrews I was only 62 years old, so I knew even as I retired that I would continue in ministry. When the part time position at St. Paul’s was open, I knew it was the sort of position I was interested in.
Because Linda works full time at Cherry Health, we still live on the north side of Grand Rapids. I typically come to Muskegon on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
I love the Episcopal Church for the radical hospitality we try to offer. I love the beauty of our liturgy. I treasure the relationships I have with members of our congregations and our diocese.
I do love to walk early in the morning, fish, travel, play cards and read. I love West Michigan, and having lived most of my life in Michigan I do love baseball and the Tigers.
I’ll post some pictures on occasion.
Blessings,
Mike
